Segue -- Pronunciation: (sā'gwā, seg'wā)

First morning of the last month of this year.
How time flies!
It was shortly after the new year 2007 that I began with you.
I might have subjected you to periodic neglect, but I don't think we did all that badly, everything considered.
Should I promise I will come more regularly from now on? in teh coming year?
Why bother. I think we are doing just fine. Anyhow this is an exciting morning, a bright cold winter morning. I suppose winter has come to settled in earnest as predicted. The sun rise I saw out of the window was just beautiful, pre-breakfast and breakfast conversations were more exciting than normal. A good beginning.

Now is a good time to segue. Yes, to seque. This is the reason why I'm writing now. What an exciting idea this is. Can't wait to see how it will develop.

Knotty Problem

Spent yesterday tackling this knotty problem.

At least I proved to myself I can do a left knot
as well as a right one.

An after thought - Black and white give
a really sharp contrast.

Home Sweet Home

5000 km in the Canadian West,
1000 clicks later,
home is the best place on earth,
but once in a while, the travel itch has to be delt with.
I told Laureenwe haven't done this crazy thing for years now,
but we did it again! This time we shared it with our boys,
at least part of the way:
Siggy on the way out and Edmund on the return trip.
Glad we covered another small corner of the world,
Glad I'm inspired to try something new.

Snow Storm Still Raging

Woke up this morning to see the storm raging. The snow fall has stop but the wind is whipping the white powder around. The poor squirrels have to abort the spring dance for a while. It's wise to stay put if I can, though I must cross the street to the library for the 4 o'clock interview.

Life's just too exciting. Was going to scan in some old pics, but bumped into the script-fu tutorial. Must do that! It will save me so much time if I learn to use this. But first, I need to show off the cuddle quilt I made for this year for SSQG. Didn't get to show it off yesterday because the the meeting was cancelled by the snow.

Ready to move on

Done is good! The journey under the "Cloak of Imagining" has come to an end. I have learned much. I am ready to move on.

Transformation Block #1
Posted by Picasa

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Can't let the weekend drift by without publishing this.

I was happy that the quilting for the "Cloak of Imagination" is done!
Only to find out that my free motion foot has become a causalty.
Tried out the "leave net" of Laurie Swim.
Bringing closure to the UFO under her name is also a good thing.
Can't say I'm not pleased with the result.

When Butterfly Takes Wing

That beautiful summer day in June last year,
I hung out the old carpet to air.
I was amazed when I saw it covered with butterflies,
Quite a sight!

The driving force behind this block is very complex.
May be someday will understand.

Block of the day. This is block #1. I came across the term "blooming" in the City&Guild page. Thought I'd give it a try. Not sure I like the result.
